Living in such a diverse area—from our backcountry spaces to our residential homes to our busy interstate—the Park City Fire District must be ready and equipped to respond to wide variety of emergencies. Our rescue teams are comprised of firefighters with advanced training in special operations. These teams include: backcountry rescue, confined space rescue, trench rescue, large vehicle extrication, hazardous materials team, ice rescue, and USAR (National Urban Search and Rescue) Utah Task Force 1 —a team that trains all across the country and is a part of the FEMA program.
Whatever the situation, we are prepared. From mountain biking accidents to a hazardous materials spill on interstate 80, the PCFD is trained and ready to respond, provide medical services, and contain the situation.
