Park City Fire Station 34 was built in 1987. It sits directly across from Deer Valley Resort’s Silver Lake Lodge in upper Deer Valley and houses four firefighters.
This station’s primary response area includes upper Deer Valley and Empire Canyon. The location is key for response and access to the Deer Valley area.
Chief Bob Zanetti stated, “It is bitter sweet that the station will be torn down, some items will be salvaged and recycled and a new station will be built in the same location. Many memories were made in the station for firefighters past and present. The station underwent a remodel before the 2002 Olympics, it has had many dignitary visitors, the Clintons, many Vice Presidents and their family, celebrities, and the secret service used it as home base when dignitaries were staying in the area. The new station will have 3 bays instead of 2. This allows more apparatus to be at the station to provide the needed service to the area. The new station will provide better living quarters for the firefighters”.
The firefighters and apparatus have been re-located to the Mine Bench and emergency response to the area will not change.
