PCFD is teaching a Rope Rescue I and II certification course for PCFD Firefighters and NSFD Firefighters.
The class is from June 19th -22nd with a full day of testing on June 23rd. The firefighters will be tested on the following:
Construct a multi-point anchor system – Load Sharing
Construct a multi-point anchor system – Self Equalizing
Construct and direct a vertical Rope Mechanical Advantage System –
Simple Vertical
Construct and direct a Rope Mechanical Advantage System –
Compound Horizontal
Construct and direct a Rope Mechanical Advantage System – R-Rig.
Perform litter attendant activities while suspended.
Construct and direct a Highline System.
Construct a fixed Rope System, Ascend/Changeover/Descend.
Using Rappel pick-off, remove victim
Stop descent while on a fixed rope in a high angle environment. Access a victim in a high-angle environment while on belay.
Demonstrate the ability to isolate or manage potentially harmful energy sources: propane tank or natural gas source.
Demonstrate the ability to isolate or manage potentially harmful energy sources: secure electrical power to structure.
We appreciate the time our PCFD instructors put into teaching this course and the time our firefighters spend training to receive their certifications.
