We have often been asked how we determine wildfire risk and plan for the upcoming wildfire season. The Great Basin Coordination Center, which is a section of the National Interagency Fire Center, provides daily 7-day Fire Potential Outlooks as well as Monthly Outlooks. These forecasts are based on data gathered from several different weather prediction models. The following link will take you to the Great Basin Coordination Center website. From there you will have access to all of the updated information that we use as well as links to information about any active fires within the Great Basin area.
